3 My delegation reaffirms Singapore’s full support for the Tribunal which plays a vital role in the peaceful settlement of disputes concerning the law of the sea. It has also proven to be responsive to key global challenges as reflected in its recent advisory opinion on obligations under the Convention in relation to climate change. We take note of the Tribunal’s recent judicial work and welcome its continued efforts to strengthen capacity-building for developing countries, which fosters a deeper understanding of the law of the sea.
